Provocation Piece

A workshop with Harma Staal and Deanna Herst on different research techniques, and in particular provocation research, made me test the possibility to work with a provocation research.

I used my material prototype tests to start interviews and conversations around the topic. I learned that th prototypes were not leading to what I was after and that the storyline was not evident from the work itself. Rather it would raise more questions.

Based on this workshop I also tested whether I wanted to make everything myself or whether I wanted to facilitate conversations over creating something for the installation.

I learned that strict facilitation of questions would be required to get both a conversation around the desired topic and output to fit the installation design.

For now that made me decide not to pursue this as part of the design.
